On 8 February 2024, the Chinese New Year Reception took place at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. It was organized jointly by CHINALUX, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels. The event, held to celebrate the advent of the Dragon New Year, served as a vibrant chapter for fostering cultural exchange and strengthening bilateral ties between Luxembourg and China.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and goodwill. Mr. Carlo Thelen, CEO/Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, set the tone for the evening with a welcome address, emphasizing the significance of cross-cultural collaboration and economic cooperation in the global landscape.

His Excellency Mr. Hua Ning, the Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting upon the bonds of friendship between the two nations and envisioning a future with mutual prosperity and understanding.

Ms. Shirley Yung, Special Representative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, graced the gathering with her insightful remarks, underscoring the pivotal role of Hong Kong as a dynamic bridge between East and West, fostering innovation and facilitating trade relations.

The evening reached its zenith as Ms. Zhujun Xie, President of the China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, took the stage. She talked about her vision for deepening commercial ties and business exchanges between the two nations. Joined by Mr. Jacques Bortuzzo, Vice President of CHINALUX, raised their glasses in a symbolic toast to the audience, blessing of prosperity and happiness upon all present, symbolizing the spirit of unity and goodwill for the new year.
