On 15 February 2017, together with the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, CHINALUX hosted the annual Chinese New Year Reception at the Chamber of Commerce, Kirchberg. Bringing in the Year of the Rooster, this flagship event in the CHINALUX calendar welcomed a full-capacity room of guests.

Speeches were delivered by Mr. Carlo Thelen, Director General, Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. HUANG Changqing, Ambassador of People’s Republic of China in Luxembourg, Mrs. Shirley Lam, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, and Dirk Dewitte, CHINALUX President. Following, the students of the Centre de Langue et de Culture Chinoises du Luxembourg (CLCCL) delighted the guests with performances of a lion dance, a Chinese song and a tea ceremony, after which guests were welcomed to a cocktail reception.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues from the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels for yet again a wonderful reception, and we look forward to the celebrations in 2018!
