On 26 October 2015, LuxReal and CHINALUX organised the first Real Estate Forum with a main focus on China hosted at Deloitte Luxembourg. The Forum was an opportunity for the many participants to learn more about Chinese outbound and inbound into the real estate asset class.
After a short introduction by Vincent Bechet, LuxReal President, and Dirk Dewitte, CHINALUX President, Laurent Cooreman, CEO at CBRE Luxembourg, outlined the type of real estate assets that have been acquired in Europe over the past year by Chinese investors, as well as the other direction - the types of Chinese real estate acquired by foreign investors during the same period.
Danny Po, Partner at Deloitte China, explained the considerations driving Chinese investors to invest overseas and in the real estate asset class and similarly those for foreign investors to invest in Chinese real estate.
This was followed by discussions in a panel format moderated by Sven Rein (LuxReal) together with Augustine Chin (Diener Syz Real Estate), Eric Zhibin Xie (Bank of China) and the two speakers.
The Forum ended with a cocktail allowing the participants to mingle and exchange their experience and view on the discussed topics.
