On the 25th June 2019, ChinaLux co-organised a morning workshop at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the BenCham EU SME 2019 Roadshow.

During the workshop, our members and friends were treated to presentations by Michiel Vos, Senior Manager Corporate Services, Moore Stephens Advisory, Liam Jazcii, Business Development, EU SME Centre, and Patrick Jeanne Senior Manager of Government and Industry Relations, Cargolux.

The speakers covered the topics of the Sino-Benelux Business Survey 2019 results, the outlook for China's business climate for SMEs, and the “Silk Road in the Air” respectively. Key thoughts and discussions? Interestingly, salary and administrations costs for Benelux companies in China is a concern, however, last year business was profitable for said companies and the indications for 2019 are also positive. As for the Belt and Road and the “Silk Road in the Air”, the question of rail versus air freight led to a discussion around different, but complementary, mediums.
