On 15th September, CHINALUX held its annual members’ cocktail at BIL to welcome back our members from the summer break. The event was sponsored by CHINALUX founder member BIL. Around 130 people attended the reception.
We were delighted to be joined by the new Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, HE Mr. HUA Ning, and honoured to appoint Mr. HUA Ning as our CHINALUX Honorary President. Mrs. LIU Jingdong, the economic commissioner of the Chinese Embassy, also showed her continued support by joining the event in person.
CHINALUX President Zhujun (King) XIE began with a welcome speech, and she expressed great thanks to all the Luxembourgish government organizations who provide support to CHINALUX. She shared the letter from Minister of Finiance, Mrs. Yuriko Backes, which congratulated on its contribution to the economic and cultural exchange. Finally, Ms. Zhujun XIE sent Mid-Autumn festival wishes to all guests.
Following, the recently-arrived Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, HE Mr. HUA Ning delivered a warm speech, he said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg over the past 50 years, the two sides have adhered to mutual respect, sincerity and friendship, and economic cooperation has achieved considerable development, becoming important partners and friends. CHINALUX Vice President Jacques Bortuzzo then introduced the VIPs present at the event: Laurent Mosar (Echevin at the Ville de Luxembourg), Carlo Thelen (Director at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce), Carlo Krieger (Former Luxembourg Ambassador to Brazil and China), and many others.
