On 19 June 2024, CHINALUX and the Xicheng District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Luxembourg.

Ms. Xie Zhujun, President of CHINALUX, provided a comprehensive introduction of CHINALUX, detailing its mission, ongoing activities, and future objectives to the Party Secretary of the Xicheng District Committee and representatives from Xicheng District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. She emphasized CHINALUX’s role in fostering economic and cultural ties between China and Luxembourg, highlighting past successful collaborations and the organization’s dedication to promoting bilateral trade and investment.

Party Secretary of the Xicheng District Committee and the representatives from the Xicheng District People’s Government highlighted the district’s status as a premier financial center in Beijing and in China. They elaborated on Xicheng District’s strategic importance, robust financial infrastructure, and its role as a hub for both domestic and international financial institutions. Expressing their optimism, both parties conveyed their hopes for future cooperation. They underscored the potential for joint initiatives that could leverage the strengths of both regions, aiming to create a synergistic partnership that would drive innovation, economic growth, and cultural exchange.

Vice President Jacques Bortuzzo, along with business leaders from the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), Luxembourg for Finance, and representatives from Deloitte, also attended the meeting.

The signing ceremony marks a significant step in fostering cooperation and development between the two parties. The MOU is expected to open up new opportunities for mutual growth and innovation, enhancing economic and cultural exchanges between China and Luxembourg.
